A: No — TaxPro Shield does not replace your E&O insurance. It complements it.
Think of it like this:
E&O protects you from your clients.
TaxPro Shield protects you from the government.
A: The membership fee is per individual PTIN — not per company.
Each TaxPro Shield membership is tied to a single, registered Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN). This means that if your company has multiple preparers or staff who each hold their own PTIN, each PTIN holder must have their own membership to receive individual legal protection.
Why? Because:
If you’re a business owner, you can cover multiple team members by purchasing separate memberships for each PTIN holder on your staff.
